FAQ

1. Do you support the use of bone medication?

We’re not for or against bone medication. Some people need it, some don’t. That decision should be made with your doctor. What we offer is education — so you can better understand possible side effects and risks, and feel more confident talking with your medical team. Our recommendations can help whether you're on medication or not.

2. Why are you anonymous?

There’s a lot of noise out there — and a lot of people claiming to be bone experts, often with something to sell. We’re just a group of volunteers who work quietly in the field of bone health. We don’t want fame or attention — just to share useful, honest info. Judge us by the quality of the work, not our names.

3. Why did you create BoneAudit?

Because too many people are confused. They're told to “take calcium, vitamin D, and go walking” — but that’s not enough. And questions like “Can I drink coffee?” show that people are often focused on the small stuff. We built BoneAudit to act like a set of signposts, pointing you in the right direction. But you’re the one who has to take the steps.

4. How is BoneAudit funded?

Our small team covers the cost of the site and tools out of pocket. If you’d like to support our work, you can donate — it means a lot. We also get a small thank-you (called a commission) if you buy some of products/services we recommend. But we only suggest things we actually use and believe in — for ourselves and our families.

5. Is BoneAudit a medical site?

No. We’re an education platform — not a clinic, and we don’t give medical advice. Everything here is designed to help you learn more and ask better questions, but it should never replace the advice of your healthcare provider.

6. What does the Bone Audit report include?

After answering a series of quick questions, you’ll get a personalised report with scores across eight key areas — like nutrition, hormones, lifestyle, and medication. You’ll also get simple, clear tips to help you improve your bone health based on your answers.

7. Do I need to follow every recommendation?

Not at all. The report is meant to inform — not overwhelm. You’ll see your top focus areas so you can start with what matters most. It’s your body, your timeline. We’re just here to help you make smarter decisions along the way.

8. How often should I do the check-in?

We suggest running the Bone Audit every 3–6 months, or after any big change to your health, habits, or medication. It’s like a progress check — helping you stay on track and see how your scores evolve over time.
Our scoring system may also be updated as new data comes in — so future reports might reflect those improvements. It’s one more way we help you stay current and focused on what matters most.

9. Who is BoneAudit for?

Anyone who wants to take bone health seriously. Whether you’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis, are at risk, or just want to prevent problems as you age — BoneAudit helps you focus on what matters most. It’s especially useful for women over 50, but open to all.

10. What happens to my data?

We don’t sell your info or share your answers with anyone. The information is private, and any emails you get will come from us — with helpful info, not spam. You can unsubscribe at any time. We believe trust has to be earned, and we’re serious about keeping yours.
